海陵路小学高分一号分辨率Abstract: Since 1970s, multiplex research trends have been manifested in western art studies, among which, T. J. Clark provided a new method for the study of art history with the method of social art history. Clark pointed out that modern painting was the interpretation of social and political conditions of modern life; however, he denied that painting could directly reflect “social class” and “ideology”, and he completed the inspection of the relationship between modern painting and society with the triangular structure “traditional convention—painting—object”. Also, it is with the triangular structure, Clark has not only maintained the standpoint of historic materialism, but also provided the creativity and transcendence of modern artist & art with the developmental space.
