聚磷酸纳盐用途广泛，可用于洗涤剂助剂、纤维工业上的精炼、漂白、染加工、上胶的助剂，水质软化及锅炉的除垢、钻井料浆的乳化剂、金属选矿的浮选剂等。
聚磷酸钠盐的种类繁多，具有代表性的是三聚磷酸钠，今年来三聚磷酸钾也有发展。三聚磷酸钠是磷酸盐工业的大宗产品，在磷酸盐中占有非常重要的地位，是合成洗涤剂中的一种主要助剂，与人们的生活、生产有着密切关系。目前中国三聚磷酸钠产量居世界第一位，1999年中国三聚磷酸钠的年实际产量为47.06万吨，2003年虽受电力及“非典”的影响，据不完全统计，上半年仍然累计生产了34.86万吨，完成了全年计划的42.60%。按国家“十五”规划，到2010年中国三聚磷酸钠消费光是洗涤剂一项就将达63万吨/年左右，加上其他方面的用途，其消费量将更大。由于环境问题，一些发达国家三聚磷酸钠的产量和用量停滞不前或显著下降，但世界三聚磷酸钠的总产量仍以每年2%~3%的速度增长。虽然在局部地区出现了饱和甚至是过剩的情况，但不发达国家和发展中国家需求量还在不断增长。中国三聚磷酸钠的生产发展很快，产量和质量提高都很快，在生产技术方面，已接近或达到了国际先进水平。

一 三聚磷酸钠
1.1简述
合成洗涤剂中的一种重要助剂（见洗涤剂用助剂与辅助剂）。由不同的磷酸氢钠分子缩合而成。又称三聚磷酸钠。因其分子(Na5P3O10)中有5个钠原子，故俗称五钠。三聚磷酸钠绝大部分用于合成洗涤剂，少数用于食品及工业用水的软化处理。

1.2性状
白粉末，熔点622 ℃，易溶于水，对钙镁等金属离子有显著的螯合能力，能软化硬水，使悬浮液变成溶液，有弱碱性，无腐蚀性，是一种无机物表面活性剂，对润滑油和脂肪有强烈的乳化作用，堆密度通常分为低密度 0.35-0.5g/cm 3，中密度 0.51-0.65g/cm 3，高密度 0.66-0.9g/cm 3 ; 三聚磷酸钠有 I 型 ( 高温型 ) 和 II 型 ( 低温型 ) 两种结晶形态，二者化学性质相同，区别在于热稳定性和吸湿性 I 型高于 II 型，同时二者的溶解度，溶解时水合热量都不同。按结构和形状分为白粉末无水物(Na5P3O10）和直角平行六面体结晶的六水合物（Na5P3O10·6H2O）。无水物有Ⅰ型和Ⅱ型之分。工业用三聚磷酸钠实际上是Ⅰ型和Ⅱ型的混合物。Ⅰ型溶解速度快，经水合生成六水合物时热效应大，在大气中易吸潮结块。Ⅱ型吸潮较慢，不易结块。因此，洗涤剂用三聚磷酸钠中Ⅰ型含量不宜太高，一般控制在10～30%。

1.4作用
三聚磷酸钠是洗涤剂中不可缺少的优良助剂，多数洗涤剂中的含量为10～50%。其主要作用可概括为如下几点。
①对金属离子的螯合作用：日常洗涤用水中，一般都含有致硬金属离子（主要是Ca2+、Mg2+）。在洗涤过程中，它们将与肥皂或洗涤剂中的活性物形成不溶性金属盐，这样，不仅使洗涤剂的耗量增加，而且使洗后的织物具有令人不快的暗灰。三聚磷酸钠具有螯合致硬金属离子的优异性能，从而可消除这些金属离子的不利影响。
②提高胶溶、乳化和分散的作用：污垢中常含有人体分泌物（主要是蛋白质和脂肪类物质），也含有来自外界的沙土、尘埃等。而三聚磷酸钠对蛋白质具有膨润、增溶作用而起到胶溶的效果；对脂肪类物质则可起到促进乳化的作用；对固体粒子则有分散悬浮作用。
