However, the Bluetooth signal may result in low measurement precision in indoor environment with a large number of multipath reflection. Therefore, a method to improve the effect of Bluetooth indoor localization is proposed emphatically in this paper. The directional antenna is added as the receiving antenna of the inexpensive Bluetooth transceiving module. The inexpensive directional antenna as an assistant means can restrain the long?distant Bluetooth signal, and improve the signal⁃to⁃noise ratio (SN
R) of short⁃distance Bluetooth receiving signal, so as to get a more reliable RSSI value as the reference value of distance. The proper number of reference points is selected and the least square method is used to estimate the plane position of transmitting signal. The accuracy of the proposed Bluetooth positioning method is increased by about 45% than that of the Bluetooth positioning method based on omnidirectional antenna.
